Getting started with CareerAgent

Updated

CareerAgent collects job openings straight from employers' own career sites and helps you keep track of the ones you apply to. You can start without signing up.

What you can do without an account

  • Search jobs. Open Jobs and type a title, company or skill. You can narrow results by country, workplace (remote, hybrid or onsite) and how recently the job was posted.
  • Track applications. Press I applied on a posting and it goes into your Pipeline, with a reminder to follow up.
  • Fill in your profile. Your Profile holds your details and your search defaults, such as the roles and cities you want.

Before the first jobs load you may see a short "One quick check" screen. That is Cloudflare confirming you are not a bot, and it usually takes a second or two. A free account shows more results per search than browsing without one; see Search limits.

When you need to sign in

You only need an account for the AI features (AI match scores, AI drafts, filling your profile from your resume) and for keeping resumes in your account. CareerAgent is free; how the AI features work. Sign in from the top right of any page with:

  • Google,
  • GitHub, or
  • your email address. We email you a 6-digit code, which works for 10 minutes. There is no password to remember.

Three things to set up first

  1. Your search defaults. Add your target roles, cities and any words you never want to see in a job title. These shape the For you list.
  2. The browser extension. It fills application forms from your profile and saves jobs from other sites to your pipeline. See The browser extension.
  3. Your profile. Fill it in once, by hand or from your resume. Like your pipeline, scores and drafts, it is kept in your account, so it is the same on every device you sign in on. See Your pipeline.
