How match scores work

Updated

What a match score is

A match score is an AI's reading of how well a job fits your profile. It reads the full job description next to your skills, experience, target roles and preferences, and gives back:

  • a score from 0 to 100;
  • a verdict: Apply, Maybe or Skip;
  • a short reason, with what you bring and what they also want.

A score is an opinion, not a guarantee. It can miss things a recruiter would notice, so read the posting before you decide.

How to get one

  • One job at a time. Open a posting and press Evaluate. If the AI cannot score the posting, it is not counted.
  • Many at once. On For you, choose Evaluate with AI and pick how many postings to score (20, 50, 100 or all). You can stop at any time.
  • Automatically. Your account also scores new postings that look like a fit in the background, These appear in For you, marked "Scored by your account". Background scores are kept for 90 days.

Every score is kept in your account, so it shows on every device you sign in on, and For you is the same list everywhere. Scores you ask for are kept until you delete your account.

You set a minimum match score in your Profile (70 unless you change it). Postings scored below it are left out of For you and your match alerts.

How For you picks jobs

For you does not need background scoring: it shows postings that match the target roles in your search defaults, leaves out titles with words you excluded, and puts jobs in your cities first. You can also pin any posting to For you with Add to For you.

Match alerts

New match alerts can also send a push notification to your phone or browser: see Install and notifications. Saved searches are not available yet.
